Are you a native English speaker with a legal background? Do you want to learn more about human rights issues in the Netherlands and international human rights mechanisms? Then we have the perfect opportunity for you!
The Dutch Section of the International Commission of Jurists is an association of lawyers who, mostly voluntarily, are committed to the protection and promotion of human rights in the Netherlands. We are looking for an English native speaker who is able to proofread two documents in February and March 2020. The documents are written by Dutch legal volunteers and they address human rights issues with regard to discrimination. The reports will be submitted to two different human rights mechanisms of the United Nations. To make sure that the reports are clear and do not contain any language mistakes, we are looking for an English editor with a human rights background (e.g. master student international law).
We will offer you an opportunity to gain knowledge about human rights issues in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, to increase your knowledge on UN Human Rights mechanisms and a small reward to thank you for your contribution.

If you are interested in this short-term assignment please send your CV and a brief writing example (unedited by others) before the 31st of January 2020 to email@example.com.
We look forward to receiving your application!
