The NJCM highlights serious human rights violations in Israel, the Palestinian Territories, and Lebanon in a letter to Dutch government officials and parliament members

In the letter, the NJCM, the Dutch section of the International Commission of Jurists, urges immediate action to address the alarming erosion of fundamental human rights and humanitarian law in the region.

The NJCM specifically highlights its concerns regarding reports of shootings targeting UN peacekeepers in the area, recent Israeli legislation prohibiting the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) from providing humanitarian assistance in the Palestinian Territories, and violence against journalists in the Palestinian Territories. The letter also discusses orders issued by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on January 26, March 28, and May 24, 2024, concerning the situation in Israel and the Palestinian Territories.

The NJCM urges the Dutch government, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to bring international attention to these pressing issues.
